What Makes Kinections Special?
We use dance, movement, and music along with conventional counseling techniques to focus on problems as diverse as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship problems, preoccupation with weight, creative blocks, and problems with verbal communication. Dr. Fraenkel finds this combination of techniques especially helpful for individuals and couples striving to be part of a group (a family, a work team, etc.) and for those struggling to free their creative selves. You do not need dance training or talent to benefit from the counseling and creative arts therapy approach that Kinections offers. You probably had the skills we work with before you went to kindergarten. At Kinections you can reclaim them, working in the way that suits you best.
Your Options
You can work alone, in a group, as a couple, or as a family. One of our groups is for women only. You may also attend 8-12 week sessions that focus on specialized topics including: body confidence & presentation skills, physical and sexual abuse, unblocking the creative in you, parenting skills, grief and loss, and compulsive eating/poor body image
Our Method: LivingDance~LivingMusic
LivingDance~LivingMusic works with natural forms like breath, muscle connection, body boundary, and pulse. These relate directly to how we feel about ourselves and how we function. LivingDance~LivingMusic frees you to be creative and intimate without losing your sense of self. Body confidence is for everyone!
Body Confidence for Everyone
We teach you to reduce the negative effects of stress, to make presentations confidently, to present yourself assertively, and to generate charisma. LivingDance~LivingMusic is especially useful for people in the public eye (teachers, lawyers, health professionals, etc.), dancers, athletes, and anyone who feels awkward in his or her body.
Parenting Skills
Participants learn how to support a child's healthy development using the body's language, natural rhythms, and child-friendly ways of talking.
